With nearly four decades of experience, Steve brings sector leading expertise in social housing and retrofit to his role as Managing Director at Liberty.

Having shaped some of the UK’s key housing maintenance and energy efficiency programmes, Steve also helped establish the retrofit proposition at Wates and served as a founding board member of WPS (formerly Wates Living Space) in 2006.

Steve has held a range of senior leadership roles giving him a deep understanding of operational delivery, strategic planning and sector governance. Since joining Liberty, he has sharpened the focus of the business around three core service lines – Heating & Compliance, Energy Transition and Repairs & Maintenance.

Under his leadership, Liberty is strengthening its offer to ensure customers receive a dependable, high-quality service that supports safe, compliant and healthy homes. His approach is rooted in a clear principle ‘everybody benefits’ – residents, clients and the wider communities which Liberty serves.

Cameron has worked in construction for eight years and has experience across multiple sectors including Highways, Water and Rail, providing broad view of the built environment. Having worked in the built environment for over 18 years, Ben has extensive knowledge and experience across asset management which goes hand in hand with his passion for environment and social value impact.
Ben works with existing and prospective customers to support carbon reduction priorities from funding and policy to innovation.
Ben recently supported many social housing customers to secure over £100m in Social Housing Decarbonisation Funding through the Wave 2 application in 2023.
Ben is a member of the National Home Decarbonisation Working Group, a forum which aims to share best practices, influence policy and drive innovation to support the industry deliver retrofit at scale.

Stewart Reid started his career at Wates in 1993. Having trained as a quantity surveyor, Stewart moved through the commercial structure into work winning and then into business leadership.

Stewart is currently accountable for our planned maintenance business, delivering planned maintenance and decarbonisation programmes.

Gary joined Wates in 2019 and is responsible for the repairs and maintenance business. Gary has held strategic director roles leading maintenance, capital investment and compliance directorates. Gary was a member of the British Army for 17 years where he taught leadership and management at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and ran ceremonial duties in London.

David joined Wates in 2014 and was appointed Executive Managing Director for WPS in 2015. He sits on the Wates Group Executive Committee and Risk Committee.

Before joining Wates David was Group Managing Director for G4S’s Care and Justice business and during his career has held executive roles at BT Global Services, Idox Plc and Sabio. David is currently a Trustee of The Clink, Board Advisor to AutogenAI, and formerly a Trustee of Hospice in the Weald.
