In a move to drive more sustainable operations, we have added new all-electric vehicles (EVs) to our 1,700-strong fleet.
Taking delivery of new all-electric Kia PV5s, the new EVs come as part of the commitment to ensure 60% of our fleet is fully electric by 2030 and to support the Wates Group – WPS’ parent company – ambition to reach net zero across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 2045.
Adding weight to this commitment, we have also recently joined the EV100 Climate Group – a global coalition of organisations pledging to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.
For the customers and communities we serve, transitioning to electric vehicles will deliver cleaner air, zero emissions and quieter neighbourhoods – reinforcing our commitment to creating places where people can thrive.
We’re excited to see these vehicles hit the road in a milestone moment for developing a cleaner, more sustainable fleet.
As a national business looking after more than half a million social homes and maintaining thousands of workplaces, our fleet is the backbone of what we do. With more than a thousand people across our Housing Maintenance, Liberty and Facilities Management teams on the road delivering for our customers up and down the country, every day, we are pleased to progress our commitments and drive greener operations – and these new vehicles are just the start.”
