WPS secures two-year extension to Lambeth North repairs and maintenance contract
WPS has secured a two-year extension to its contract with the London Borough of Lambeth, reinforcing a successful partnership that now makes Lambeth one of the company’s largest contracts.
Originally awarded in July 2024 following a competitive procurement process, the Lambeth North contract covers just over 20,000 properties and is valued at approximately £14 million per year.
The extension will see WPS continue delivering a comprehensive range of housing maintenance services, including responsive repairs, disrepair works, damp and mould remediation and void property services, helping to ensure residents have safe, healthy and well-maintained homes.
The extension builds on WPS’ established relationship with Lambeth, having previously been awarded the Lambeth South contract in 2021. Commencing in July 2021 and valued at approximately £15 million per year, the Lambeth South partnership has supported the delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services across the borough’s social homes.
The contract extension will continue to deliver social value across Lambeth North, creating benefits beyond core maintenance services. This includes supporting local apprentices, investing in community initiatives such as refurbishment of local community centres, providing trips and events for sheltered housing residents, plus carrying out estate improvement and clearance projects. The contract also retains the 1% social value contribution, ensuring ongoing investment in projects that support Lambeth residents and communities.
WPS will also ensure that the Council is compliant with Awaab’s Law and the Social Housing Regulations Act 2023 by providing solutions to support a more proactive repairs service. The use of a dynamic scheduling algorithm will optimise delivery by ensuring that operatives are located strategically according to repair demand across Winchester and are able to attend to jobs quickly.
