WPS to partner with PA Housing on transformational retrofit programme
The new programme of works, which will benefit from Wave 3 of the Government’s Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF), will run for three years. WPS along with its in-house team, NetZero Collective – providing specialist PAS 2035 consultancy – will deliver a comprehensive package of fabric-first and renewable energy upgrades across around 300 homes. This includes a range of measures such as external wall insulation, cavity wall and loft insulation, window replacements, and solar PV installation – a coordinated set of improvements designed to materially improve the energy performance and long‑term resilience of PA Housing’s stock.
These measures create a clear pathway toward lower‑carbon, lower-cost living environments, aligning with PA Housing’s commitment to providing warm, safe and well‑maintained homes. Charles Ellis, Executive Director of Asset Management at PA Housing, commented: “We’re excited to be working alongside WPS to deliver these important improvements and energy-efficiency upgrades to our residents’ homes.”
Building on an established partnership between WPS and PA Housing, the appointment reflects a relationship that has evolved from responsive maintenance across London and the Midlands. Currently WPS delivers around 48,000 repairs annually, including damp and mould remediation and legal disrepair works, for 16,000 of PA Housing’s London properties.
WPS will also deliver meaningful social value across PA Housing communities by providing targeted employability support, including accredited Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor training, apprenticeships, work placements, curriculum workshops, and school outreach. These initiatives will be underpinned by local recruitment and structured subcontractor training plans. In addition, we will strengthen financial inclusion by prioritising local spend and delivering expert sustainability and innovation workshops to build capability across the wider supply chain..
