At Liberty, your safety – and the safety of our colleagues – is our top priority.
We take great care to make sure everyone stays safe while work is carried out in your home. As RoSPA Gold Award winners, you can be confident in our commitment to high standards of health and safety.
What to expect when we arrive
When our team arrives, they will:
- Put clear safety measures in place to protect you and your home
- Explain the work they will be carrying out
- Talk you through any potential risks
Every job is different, but some common things you might notice include:
- Floorboards lifted in the work area
- Tools and equipment in use
- More than one operative in your home
- Work being carried out in the loft or on the roof
- Ladders or scaffolding outside your property
- Waste being stored temporarily in a designated area
- Safety signs or barriers set up
The ‘Safe Zone’
To help keep you safe, we may ask you to stay in a separate area of your home while work is being carried out. We call this a Safe Zone.
The Safe Zone:
- Keeps you away from work areas and potential hazards
- May be marked with signs or barriers
- Will be agreed with you before work begins
Before we start, we’ll make sure you have everything you need from the work area so you won’t need to return to it.
During the work
Areas outside the Safe Zone are considered work areas and may not be safe to enter. If you need access to another part of your home, please speak to one of our operatives first. They will make sure it is safe for you before you enter.
You will still have access to essentials like bathroom and kitchen facilities and we will work with you to make sure you are comfortable throughout.
When the work is finished
We will let you know once the work is complete and the area is safe again. The Safe Zone will then be removed, and you can use your home as normal.
